What fun is a group campout without a flyer and a clever name?
So I made a flyer and I'm calling this the 1st Annual VCMC Summer Burnout. (That's as clever as I get.)
Flyer attached. Feel free to spread it around.
You already registered Kevin H!
Click on the "Event Calendar" tab, then click on June 2 "1st Annual VCMC Gorman Extravaganza" to register....

I'm sorry, but I don't see where to "REGISTER"?
Can you register? We are trying to get counts.... So far I'm not sure we have enough people to proceed with paying $500 for permits and trying to plan a cook out that only 7 people have signed up for.....also - have no cook......
I will be there

I'M IN!!
Friday night thru Sunday departure.
Will cook a dish for the "potluck" Saturday night.
I think it's great idea to get everyone out there riding. And I'd happily pay into a race/poker run.

Bonus nerd idea: Hungry Valley just kicked off their new General Plan process - which involves the public to envision the next 30 years out there. A few VCMC folks attended the kick-off meeting and we'll stay involved. While we're camping out there having a good time, we can think/talk a little about what we'd like to see out there - like more one-way motorcycle trails, better campsites, trail connectivity to Ballinger, ?!....
I like it!

Would you pay so much to enter - say like $20 - then it's a cash prize?  split 50/50 between fastest and best hand?

We can assign everybody a number....I can use the numbers left over from the Qualfier..... then set up a for fun race in Mototally and time them with Mototally.
GPS, Timed, Poker Run.... ?!?

using GPS, you gotta find waypoints, at each waypoint is a club member with a deck of cards, draw one card and on to the next waypoint.... Riders leave at different times, write down the time they leave and the time they get back.

two ways to win, one with the best poker hand and one that hit all the waypoints in the shotrest amount of time...

or something like that..........

So the Club meeting was last night at Carrow's in Ventura..... of the open dates given to me by Hungry Valley - we selected June 2-3-4.

This place has 10 fire rings and cabanas - a group fire pit - a Santa Maria Bar-B-Que...just to name a few of the amenities. It also comes with 50 vehicle passes for entry into the park. I have attached a few more pictures.

We have plenty of time to plan - but a lot to decide. The fee for exclusive use of this area is $250.00 per day. Do we want to charge club members some kind of nominal fee to attend?

Other things to think about are what kind of activities do we want to plan? Or do we just want to play it by ear and not really plan anything. We could have riding clinics, tire changing contests and clinics, suspension clinics - what ever kind of talents our club members can bring to the table. - And we have a lot of talented members. There is a pull down video screen - who can or would like to take charge of video presentations and services?

I know we have several members that love to cook and Bar-b-que..... we need a menu committee ....

Like I said - lots of time - but lots to think about! Come to the meetings and help us decide!

this is a great idea! we should do it in march or April.
So I happened to notice today that Hungry Valley has a Pavilion they've built complete with bar-b-que and tables - not really sure what campground it's at - but It's in the park somewhere.

I would like to propose a club ride some time in late spring - Riding and Saturday night cookout. Maybe coordinate some riding clinics with some of our more experienced riders. I would think we need to come up with a date as soon as possible so that we can reserve the space.

I volunteer Dale Core as our cook! :)

Let's get together for fun!
