Unfortunately the instructor at Hungry Valley for motorcycle certification has had a bad get-off and is laid up for a while. We are looking for another option but haven't found one yet.
The details of the chainsaw class have been worked out now. April 22nd will be the classroom portion of chainsaw certification class. It will be from 8am to about 4pm depending upon the size of the class. This class will be held at the Mt. Pinos Ranger Station (Chuchupate) at 34580 Lockwood Valley Rd in Frazier Park.
The field evaluation portion will be held outside on the district and participants can pick either April 29th or April 30th to demonstrate their skills with a saw. You do not need to own your own saw or Personal Protective Equipment.
You need to have current first aid/cpr and bloodborne pathogens to receive a saw cert card, and the last class we have offered for free by the Forest Service will be March 19th 8:30am. Red Cross, American Heart Association or similar cards are acceptable, but online first aid courses are not. We are looking to add a second classroom date due to ohv conflicts so that there is more than one choice but that is not yet scheduled..
